About the Inclusive Employer Excellence Awards

Inaugurated in 2017, the Inclusive Employer Excellence Awards (IEEA) has become an annual event that honours Abbotsford and Mission employers who go above and beyond to create inclusive workplaces for individuals of all abilities.

This includes actively employing, providing work experience placements, community advocacy, and other activities related to including persons with a disability in the workplace.

The event is organized, planned, and presented by five community partners working in Abbotsford and Mission: Archway Community Services, Bethesda, Communitas Supportive Care Society, Mission Association for Community Living and WorkBC Abbotsford/Mission.

These community partners support people with disabilities, in unique but aligned ways, to find jobs that match their skills and interests. They share a vision of supporting local employers to access this relatively untapped talent pool while also ensuring that people who have disabilities are supported into meaningful and competitive jobs in their community.

Nominations

We will be presenting five awards to inclusive employers and individuals at the awards breakfast in Fall.

The Awards Selection Committee is comprised of staff from external organizations to the organizing commitee. They choose the winner’s at their discretion, based on the information contained in the nomination as well as information requested of the nominees themselves.
